Synopsis A vicious man (Lee Jung-Jin) works for a loan shark as an enforcer. When customers are unable to pay for their outrageous interest payments the man forces these borrowers to gimp their own bodies to collect insurance money. A woman (Jo Min-Su) then appears in front of the man and gets down on her knees. She tells the man that she is his mother and begs for forgiveness. The vicious man was given up for adoption as soon as he was born. The man quickly dismisses the woman as crazy, but her persistance soon cracks through the man's hardened outer shell. Can the mother and son find happiness at last?
Sexual violence The film's depiction of the violence and sexuality between Kang-do and the woman who claims to be his long-lost mother have provoked intense reactions and is debated by critics. Some of the most controversial scenes in the film includes when Kang-do feeds the woman a piece of his own flesh from his thigh, and a scene when he shoves his hand into the woman's private area, molesting her, and asking her "I came out of here? Can I go back in?". There is another subsequent scene when she gave Kang-do a handjob.

Oh, this film was so disappointing for me! Wrong cast, predictable story, and so many mistakes that I never expected from the director and scriptwriter Kim Ki-Duk. I still think that 3 Iron and Rough Cut are his best works.
